4-21-24 Lake Erie Walleye Jigging Report - Oak Harbor
WOW! The jig bite on the reef never gets old...bounce, bounce, THUMP!! If the wind would JUST STOP it would be absolutely on fire. There are tons of fish in close (11-12 fow) but the water is still too dirty for a really great bite. In the last three days the water temp dropped about five degrees, down to 52.9 when I was fishing in 57 degrees on Thursday. This made the bite a bit tougher than usual today but it was still a great day. Jamie Guy and his sons Gavin and Kyler still hammered some nice walleye and also a toad smallie and jumbo perch! The key right now is to find the warmest "clean" water holding fish. Not all of this water will due to constantly shifting currents etc. Purple/chartreuse 3/4 ounce hair jigs (no minnows or plastics) is still working very well! - Captain Denny Sharrone 22 Sport Fishing Charters
