11-5-21 Lake Erie Walleye Report
Fenwick Marina - Oak Harbor, OH
We FINALLY got out on the water after weeks of being stuck on land in the shop. We let the sun warm things up and launched late morning. Covered some water to find cleaner water and decent marks. The water west of the reefs is still trashed The water we fished was a gray/blue chalky color with about 1ft of visibility. She is still recovering from the recent rain and blows but getting there. Lines set around 11am. Fished 27-30ft. Water temp ranged between 52-55. Speed was 2-2.4. It didn't take long to start slamming the walleye! Within minutes of having the lines set we had boards shoot back. We started whacking them good right off the bat. We caught most on bandits but 2nd for us today were the Shaky Shads. Our Purple Flash and Atomic Blueberry Bandits we're on Best two colors of the day. The Goldigger shaky shad got a major workout as well at 60ft back, unassisted. Bandits caught fish all over the map. Anywhere from 35 back unassisted to a 2oz snap at 50/20. Fish were active high, low and in-between. Had a steady pick and finished up with our 18 fish after about 3 hours. Released a few as well. No Walleye Slam winners but some nice fish. We lost a 9-10 pounder at the net. No winner but a dandy that you hate to lose Beautiful weather and light winds made for a perfect fall day on the water! Tomorrow looks great too, so get out and get you some fish! Good luck!
