Fished out of Meinke. Ran west of the intake into 22fow. Had great "up/down" action! Caught 30 in about 1.25 hours. The average size was 9" with a handful of 11"-12" fish. I used the Fishing Addiction Gear Mtn Dew color Perch Fly Rigs with a 1.5oz weight. Excellent day on the water!

Fishing has remained stellar on the western end of Lake Erie. The Fishing Addiction Gear Perch Fly Rigs continue to dominate!!! Tipping them with a cut shiner. We have been working 18 to 20ft of water. Bite has been light. You need plenty of weight to keep the rigs still. A lot of times they want it dead still. Using 1.5 to 2 oz weights has been key the last 3 days. We have been fishing around the Toledo water intake area still. Orange and mountain Dew have been the best color Perch Fly Rigs for us lately!!

This morning was a blast with great fishing!! We had the Hunter brothers Joe and Steve with their request of the ole man . We left the dock around 615 and headed NE out of the marina and worked the north east side of the reef complex from 24 out to 29 FOW. All morning we had a steady pick of fish as we had to sort through the shorts. For every keeper we had 3 shorts but ended up with our limit anchored by Joe’s 27” hawg around 1030am!! Rattles tots 95-110' back on the board lines & blue chrome Rapala J7s on a size 1 dipsey on a 1 setting 30' back were like yo-yos!
Location: Marblehead, OH

Trolling around the Marblehead area has been productive with Tru-Trip 40's using spoons either tipped with worm or without. Double Willow and Single Colorado #6 Harnesses are also catching very well. There is a lot of bait around and it’s very small fish fry. We have been mimicking that size of bait by using Rapala J7’s or #7 Flicker Minnows. We are running them behind Dipsy Divers and Jet 50s. Speed has varied from 2-2.5mph depending on the day and direction. The fish are spread out but once you find an active pod continue to work that area until you stop catching. Capt Jerod

Walleye fishing remains strong in the central basin from Vermilion to Lorain. 52 fow is still loaded with walleye but the throwback to keeper ratio is 4:1. This week we had better success at limiting the throwbacks by sliding into 20-30 fow with a really nice grade of fish. Both depths the program remains the same. Flicker minnow 11s 60-120' back with no weight and large Badmo lure spoons off dipsies running 2-2.4 mph. Perch are starting to fire off the camp perry firing range as well. Cut minnows on Fishing Addiction Gear Perch Fly Rigs did the damage for us last week. We will be out scouting for steelhead this weekend so stay tuned for the next report to hear our update on the silver bullets. Good luck everyone!

Just when you think it can’t get any better, Lake Erie hands you her beer and says WATCH THIS!!!! I was a little apprehensive this morning with their needed 6am departure time but I was willing to give it a shot. We made our 18 mile run out and started dropping gear. The wire rod got smoked and it was a 27” stud. After that, it was a blur. Doubles, triples, quads, steelhead jumping behind the boat, it was organized chaos. This may be my biggest summer board of fish yet. The pigs were on the feed. We ended 24 miles from the harbor but it was well beyond worth it. Still pulling 300’ of stainless wire with deep junior thundersticks and bomber 24a, as well as big fish tuff Tru-Trip 40's with big spoons. 72-74’ of water targeting 40-50’ down out near the Canadian border.

On our most recent trip we were dealing with some very big water and strong NW winds. To battle these rough conditions we fished inshore in 38 to 42ft of water. Size 1 Dipsy Divers on a 1 setting at 68' back and a 3 setting at 90' back did well. Helmet UV stinger spoons by far out-fished all other spoon colors. Bandit walleye deep cranks using the 50/50 2oz method pulled fish. Down riggers pulling Rippin red fins just off the bottom were good as well. The water temp was 74 degrees on this recent trip. Good luck. - Captain Jamie

24-27 fow in front of tributary creeks have been good. Running unassisted lines 200’ back with Bagley bango and Bomber 24a. Deep program: 55-72 FOW running 5 core with shallow plugs and as the day goes on running a diving plug seems to be key. Dipsys with little spoons have been pulling a bunch of fish too. Walleye trolling at speeds of 2.3-2.5 mph. The Steelhead bite is heating up in 95’-110’ of water. Trolling speeds at 2.4-2.6 mph with bright spoons. (Orange - pink back).

Fish are holding between 55-58’fow off the “fence” (canadian boarder). The bottom 6-8’ seems to be the most consistent part of the water column. This is a bottom bouncers dream. Spinner and worm is most productive off a 3 way rig. Don’t be surprised is you have to tangle with some big rod bending Lake Erie drum. Some times you will get 3/4 for every walleye you catch. So bring lots of worms! Some structure and jumps are holding resident fish if you want to dip away from the boat traffic. Same technique works well in those areas also.
