5-30-22 Lake Erie Walleye Report

Launch Location - Fenwick Marina - Oak Harbor, OH
Left the dock at 7am and headed to where we left off the day before. We quickly learned the fish we were on the day before moved on us. We moved out to deeper water and got into them quickly. Dipsy divers were best early. Size 0 on a 0 setting. 50-60 back was best for us with Michigan Stinger Scorpion Spoons and Badmo Spoons. For about an hour the dipsy bite was just crazy. SO MANY SHORT FISH this trip. They make it fun but dang it was a lot. We boated around 30-40 of them. As the sun came up, our dipsy diver bite died. We started pulling fish on spoons behind tadpole divers and Bandits on snap weights. The biters were the deeper fish by 10am. Size 1 Tadpoles 80-100' back behind the boards. Bandits and 2oz snap weights on the 50 + 2 method, with 85' out total. We were getting a lot more keepers as the morning went on and less shorts. Speed was 2.8mph. They wanted it fast. 68 degree water temp. Great clarity, with 3-4' plus visibility in most places. Best bite for us was in 30' plus. No big fish, just the average far western basin eater size summer walleye at 16-22''. We have spoons, divers and about everything else you need for these summer walleye in stock. Gear up!
