04-29-24 Lake Erie Walleye Jigging Report
4/29/24 Lake Erie Walleye Report - Oak Harbor Ohio
The jig bite remains good. With clean water and a good color of stained water in close, there are fish scattered for miles down the shoreline. All over from Davis Besse to crane creek. It's crazy how fast the conditions can change. From pure mud one day to super clean the next. This time of the year 24 hours of a south wind can really help clean up the jigging areas quickly. 14-17' was best for us. Caught a few on Captain Jays blades and the rest on Purple/Chartreuse 3/4 Venom hair jigs with a gulp minnow and 2" stinger hook. Varied retrieve of sharp snaps and low/slow lifts. Bite was best for us between 7:30-8:30am. We caught most in the clean water with 1-2' of visibility but also caught some in dirty water with 6'' of visibility. Limit of perfect size jig fish for a future fish fry. As of 11am the South wind is starting to RIP Good luck out there.
