12-28-23 Lake Erie Walleye Report

Lake Erie Walleye Fishing
Lake Erie walleye fishing is ridiculously good right now! Lots of Fish Ohio's are being caught daily. This fantastic winter walleye action is running all along the shores of Lake Erie right now. From Michigan waters in the far western basin all the way to Cleveland! The fish are in full FEED mode for winter and devouring everything in sight. The recent warm temps are keeping the lake open and accessible for boat anglers to enjoy. We have two reports for you below. One is from Michigan water and one is from Ohio! Good luck out there and be sure to do those boat checks before heading out in these cold water temps!

Cleveland is still producing good numbers and great quality! The key for us has been finding stained with water 2-3 feet of visibility. Bandits have been outperforming all other baits in this water. When we have to fish cleaner water then P10s have been a little better. Bandits have been best at 35-50 feet back unassisted and P10s have been best at 35/35 (35 feet of line, 2oz Snap Weight, then 35 more feet). Color seems to vary from day to day bit whites have been the most consistent. Our best average speed has been 1.6mph and water depth has varied from 25-50, it really just depends on the wind direction and how the bait is getting moved around. Good luck and Happy New Year!

However Smithwick P-10’s were the choice for the walleyes today 20-40’feet back. Best speed was 1.2 to 1.4 GPS. Our best water was 12 to 15 feet of water!
